Ardnamurchan – AD/10:22 Madeira Cask Release 2022 (58.2%)

The 2022 release of Ardnamurchan AD/10:22 Madeira Cask is made entirely from the distillery's unpeated spirit, unlike the standard AD releases. It began its maturation in ex-bourbon casks and was then finished in ex-Madeira casks, which add an edge of preserved fruit syrup. Just under 6,000 bottles were filled at 58.2% ABV. Tasting notes mention burnt caramel and honey-coated dates on the nose, with bitter walnut oil and blood orange marmalade. The palate has jasmine tea, panna cotta and honey wax, and the finish is balanced, with a touch of tobacco leaf.
