This is a cask-strength single malt from Ardnamurchan on the west coast of the Highlands, bottled at 58.3% ABV. The spirit is 87% peated and 13% unpeated, and it was matured in a mix of 90% bourbon casks and 10% sherry casks. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
It is released in small batches, so strength and flavour can vary slightly from one to the next.
The nose brings maritime peat smoke, light vanilla and fresh citrus zest. On the palate, peat smoke meets ripe fruit, oak and warming black pepper. The finish is lasting, with smoke and a touch of salted seaweed.
