Ardnamurchan – Heritage Barley Release (59.2%)

Ardnamurchan Heritage Barley Release is a single malt made from 100% unpeated Golden Promise malted barley. The distillate is over six years old and was matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks, then bottled at cask strength, 59.2% ABV. The nose brings milk chocolate digestive biscuits, glacé cherries, lime cordial, marzipan and apricot jam, with a whiff of long grass. The palate is oily and chewable, with sugared almonds, salted cashews, orange polenta cake and baked cooking apples. The finish is medium in length, with soft orchard fruit, sweet nuttiness and a last note of espresso.
