Ardnamurchan – Sauternes Cask Release Peated 2025 (50%)

This is a peated single malt from Ardnamurchan, bottled at 50%. It spent three years in ex-bourbon casks, then a further three and a half years in ex-Sauternes barriques. The release was made from 29 casks of fully peated spirit, and 8,460 bottles were filled. The bottle is clear embossed glass made from 54% recycled glass, with a QR code that gives traceability through blockchain technology. The tasting notes describe nutmeg, dried ginger and orange blossom, together with smoke, honey, cashew nuts and peppery spice. The finish is spicy, both powerful and elegant.
