Arlett Single Malt Tourbé (70cl, 43%)

Arlett Single Malt Tourbé is a peated French single malt from Distillerie Tessendier, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured for three years in bourbon casks. The whisky is a vintage-styled tribute to the 1950s and to Arlette, mother of brothers Jérôme and Lilian Tessendier. The family has distilled for generations, and the distillery makes, distils and matures the whole Arlett production itself, from the barley through to the choice of casks. The nose is expressive, with iodine and smoky liquorice. The palate opens clean and direct, with a marked but airy peat character that lingers well.
