Arran Sauternes Cask Finish is an unpeated single malt from Lochranza Distillery, bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The spirit spends around eight years in oak casks before a second maturation in Sauternes casks from France, sourced from a small artisan producer.
The finish adds honeyed fruit, ripe melon, apricot and floral sweetness to the distillery's citrus and orchard-fruit character.
The nose is floral and fruity, with honeysuckle, melon, marzipan, vanilla and apricot. The palate is honeyed, with sultana, citrus zest, warming spice and a light saline edge. The finish is sweet and oak-driven, with dried fruit and gentle spice.
