Asaka – Aoi Edition

Asaka Aoi Edition is a commemorative release from the Asaka distillery in Fukushima prefecture, Japan. Aoi is the Japanese word for blue, a colour that stands for purity and cleanliness in traditional Japanese culture. Asaka was built in 2015 by Sasanokawa Shuzo, a company founded in the Tohoku region in 1765. It first became known for sake and shochu, and later for Yamazakura blended whiskies, before moving into single malt production at its own distillery in the mountains.
