Backwoods Maple Syrup Cask is an Australian rye whisky finished in a maple syrup cask, in a 70cl bottle at 48% ABV.
Spice, toasted grain and an earthy richness form the base of the rye, while the finish in the maple cask adds sweetness.
Caramelised sugar, vanilla bean and warm baking spices lead the nose. On the palate, peppery rye comes first, followed by maple glaze, toffee and light roasted nuts. The finish is long and smooth, with lingering maple sweetness, gentle oak and soft spice.
