Bain's Cape Mountain Whisky (70cl, 40%)

Bain's Cape Mountain is a South African single grain whisky, made at the James Sedgwick distillery in Wellington. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle and was the first single grain whisky from South Africa. It won a Gold Medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition in 2010 and a Silver at the International Spirits Competition. It was also named World's Best Grain Whisky at the World Whisky Awards. The nose offers grapefruit peel, custard creams, icing sugar, nutmeg and vanilla sugar. The palate is soft and well rounded, with vanilla cream, fresh pear, banana, cardamom and oak. Sweet citrus peel returns in the finish with a little meadowsweet.
