A 10-year-old Balblair single malt from Living Souls, finished in Limousin oak XO octaves before bottling at 46% ABV. Balblair was founded in 1790 in the Highlands, near the Dornoch Firth.
The distillery uses long fermentations and slow distillation in copper stills, and its spirit is often marked by ripe apples, pears, citrus and honey balanced by oak.
The nose is likened to a grand library: leather-bound books and the warmth of aged oak furniture, with sultanas and candied orange.
