Balblair 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky matured in two stages. It was matured first in American oak ex-bourbon casks, then given a secondary maturation in first-fill Spanish oak butts.
The ex-bourbon casks bring sweetness and purity, while the first-fill butts add richness. Together they pair Balblair's orchard-fruit character with sherry depth, and the whisky is described as combining fruit, spice and sherry.
