Balcones Lineage Single Malt (75cl, 47%)

Balcones Lineage is a Texas single malt from Balcones Distilling in Waco, bottled at 47% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It carries no age statement. The mash combines Simpsons Golden Promise malted barley with locally sourced malted barley from West Texas. It is distilled in copper pot stills made by Forsyths of Scotland and matured in a mix of virgin and used oak barrels, with staves that were aged outdoors for thirty-six months. The nose brings orange blossom, lime, pineapple and guava, with fruitcake and maple syrup. The palate moves from tropical sweetness to hot chocolate, roasted nuts and caramel, with baking spice and black pepper. The finish is medium-long and warming, with toasted malt and light oak.
