Balcones – Texas Pot Still Straight Bourbon Whisky (75cl, 46%)

Balcones Texas Pot Still Straight Bourbon is made in Waco, Texas, at the first legal whisky distillery in the state since Prohibition. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The mash bill combines blue corn, Texas wheat, rye and malted barley, with local grain used wherever possible. The spirit is distilled in copper pot stills and aged in new charred American oak barrels in the Texas climate, with minimal filtering. The nose offers honey, apricot, toasted corn and nutmeg, with leather and a little butterscotch. On the palate are honey, sweet cream, candied pecans, leather and fig, with peppery spice and toasted oak. The finish is long and warming, with spice, dark chocolate and toasted barrel.
