Balcones Texas Rye 100 Proof (75cl, 50%)

Balcones Texas Rye 100 Proof is a 100% rye whisky from Balcones Distilling in Waco, Texas, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). The mash bill combines raw Elbon rye grown in northwest Texas with crystal, chocolate and roasted rye malts. It is pot distilled in copper stills, aged in new American and Hungarian oak, and bottled without chill filtration or added colouring. A deep amber whisky, it has a nose of soft charred oak, black tea, cracked pepper, stewed apple and chocolate-covered cherry. The palate is creamy and full-bodied, with buttery toffee, cocoa, tobacco, peppery rye spice, coffee and nuts. The finish is long and robust, with dark chocolate, peanut butter and brown sugar.
