Balcones – Texas Rye 100 Proof (75cl, 50%)

Balcones Texas Rye 100 Proof is a rye whisky from the Balcones Distillery in Texas, bottled at 50% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The mash is 80% Texas-grown raw Elbon rye, 10% malted barley and 10% malted rye. It is pot distilled in copper stills and matured in new charred American oak barrels. The nose offers dark chocolate, coffee, brown sugar and toasted grain, with cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. The palate is full-bodied, with rye spice, cocoa, dark cherries and roasted nuts over caramel, vanilla and oak. The finish is long and warming, with black pepper, baking spices and oak dryness.
