Ballechin 10 Year Old Heavily Peated (46%)

Ballechin 10 Year Old is a heavily peated single malt from Edradour, where Ballechin has been distilled since 2003. The barley is peated to no less than 50 ppm. It is bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. Most of the whisky comes from ex-bourbon casks, with a generous topping of ex-Oloroso sherry casks added for depth and complexity. The nose is grassy herbs with sweet smoke. The palate offers chocolate and oak over spiced, earthy smoke. The finish is smouldering burnt heather.
