Barsol Quebranta is a Peruvian pisco in the puro style, made entirely from Quebranta grapes and presented in a 2 litre bottle at 41.3% ABV. It comes from Bodega San Isidro in the Ica Valley.
The pisco is pot-distilled once in copper alembic stills and taken straight to bottle strength, so nothing is added after distillation. Quebranta is a non-aromatic variety, and this method keeps the character of the grape intact.
The nose is faintly smoky pear and dried banana, with hay, cut grass and apricot blossom. The palate is clean and gently sweet, with vanilla custard, green grape, dark berries, pecan and a touch of black pepper. The finish is medium in length, creamy and moderately dry.
