Basil Hayden's is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 70cl bottle, made in small batches from a mash bill with a high proportion of rye. It is bottled at 40%, a lower strength than many bourbons.
It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose is peppery and spicy, with honey, vanilla and toasted wood. On the palate it is light and balanced, with rye, caramel, cinnamon and herbs. The finish is soft, dry and pleasantly spicy.
