Basil Hayden Toast is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 75cl bottle, at 40% abv (80 proof). It is made at the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont, Kentucky, and the brand belongs to Beam Suntory. It is the newest permanent release from Basil Hayden.
The mash bill is new: brown rice takes the place of the traditional rye. This adds a touch of sweetness and slightly less spice. A secondary maturation in a toasted, then charred oak barrel gives the bourbon greater depth of flavour.
