Ben Nevis – 8 Years Old The Ultimate 2011 (70cl, 46%)

This is an 8 year old single cask Ben Nevis from the Highlands, bottled by The Ultimate. The whisky was distilled on 4 March 2011 and bottled on 14 January 2020. It matured in a bourbon cask and is bottled at natural colour and 46% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The nose opens with fresh tropical fruit, pineapple and banana, then turns sharper with freshly cut kiwi and lemon and a hint of fruit sweets. With water, green apple appears, and later hay and oat biscuits. The palate starts sweet and fruity and moves towards mango chutney on toast. The finish is short, with a herbal aftertaste.
