This is a 16 year old unpeated Speyside single malt from BenRiach, distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2023 at 60.7% ABV. It comes from a single cask and was filled into 707 bottles, each 70cl, exclusive to visitors to the distillery.
The whisky spent its first nine years in bourbon casks and the next seven in a port pipe. It is double matured rather than finished.
The nose is sweet and malty, with pastries, maraschino cherries, orange peel, caramel and a hint of honey. The palate is richly textured, with ripe raspberries, cherry, sweet malt and maple-drizzled French toast. The finish is medium in length and syrupy sweet, with lingering cinnamon.
