BenRiach – Birnie Moss Intensely Peated Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl)

Birnie Moss is an intensely peated Speyside single malt from BenRiach, in a 70cl bottle. It carries no age statement and is distilled to 35ppm, combining fruit with smoke and making use of the distillery's cask finishing work. It was first made for younger whisky drinkers in Spain, then found favour across Europe and further afield. The name refers to a bog. The colour is golden. Peat, vanilla and oak sit in balance on the nose. The palate is sweet Speyside peat with vanilla and tropical fruit, and the finish carries on with sweet peat, smoke and a little tannin.
