Big Peat 12 Years Old is an Islay blended malt, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It combines whisky from four Islay distilleries: Ardbeg adds punch, Port Ellen a deep flavour, Caol Ila its iodine notes and Bowmore fine spicy touches.
The nose brings a beach bonfire with salty spray, a hint of brown sugar and liquorice. On the palate there are strong sea notes over earthy peat, slightly woody, with oily peanut, a little orange peel and toasted sesame. Peat dominates the long finish.
