Big Peat is a peated blended malt from Islay, bottled by the independent bottler Douglas Laing in a 70cl bottle. It was first put together in 2009 from whiskies of Port Ellen, Bowmore, Ardbeg and Caol Ila, and is peated to around 40 PPM.
The nose is strong with peat, wet smoke and citrus fruit. The palate is smoky, with burnt wood and dry ash. The finish is of medium length, with plenty of peat, salty notes and citrus.
