Big Peat Christmas Edition 2016 (70cl, 54.6%)

Big Peat Christmas Edition 2016 is a blended malt containing whisky from the closed Port Ellen distillery and from every Islay distillery still working. It is bottled at cask strength, 54.6% ABV, in a 70cl bottle, with an outturn of 15,000 bottles worldwide. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The label shows Big Peat by the fireplace with nine hanging stockings, one for each of the nine active Islay distilleries. The nose is maritime, with chimney soot and seaweed. The palate is smoky and full, with a dry sweetness. The finish is lightly sweet with salty and peppery accents.
