Big Peat Fèis Ile 2024 The Thropaigeach Edition (70cl, 48%)

This is the Fèis Ile 2024 edition of Big Peat, a blended malt Scotch whisky made up of Islay malts. Douglas Laing selected and bottled it in 2024 at 48%, in a 70cl bottle. Thropaigeach is Gaelic for tropical. The malts were finished in rum casks, and the whisky is a limited release of 5688 bottles. It is bottled at cask strength, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The nose brings warm peat smoke and a hint of toasted marshmallow. The palate is oily and full, with flambéed bananas, grilled meat and sweet honey. The finish is full of coal dust, grilled pineapple and a little nutmeg.
