This is a Halloween edition of Douglas Laing's Big Peat, a blended malt made from Islay single malts taken from individual casks. It is bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It was bottled in 2021 in an outturn of 300 bottles. It is non-chill-filtered, has no added colour and is peated to 40 ppm.
The tasting notes mention sweet pastry, burnt sugar and earthy peat smoke on the nose, then nutty malt and meaty smoke with cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish brings citrus peel, herbal smoke and smouldering oak.
