Bird Dog Salted Caramel is a flavoured whiskey made from barrel-aged Kentucky bourbon blended with natural salted caramel flavours. It is bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 750ml bottle and is made by Western Spirits Beverage Company in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
The bourbon base was aged in new oak barrels. It won a Double Gold Medal at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The nose is buttery caramel with toasted oak, soft vanilla and a faint brininess. The palate is creamy and caramel-sweet, with vanilla, warm oak and grain, and a salty note towards the end. The finish is medium and warm, with sweet-and-salty caramel and dry oak tannins.
