This is Black Bush 1608, an Irish whisky from the 2000s. The nose brings leather, mocha and apples with plenty of spice, including cinnamon, allspice and cloves, alongside sweet vanilla, a light floral top note and fresh wood or pencil shavings. On the palate, wood is strong throughout, with black pepper on the mid-palate, slight sweetness, citrus and a surprising flash of banana. The finish is oak with a hint of lingering spice.
