Blackland Prairie Gold is a Texas straight bourbon made in Fort Worth, bottled at 50% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is cooked, fermented and distilled on site from Texas-grown grains, using a mash of 80% yellow corn and 20% triticale, a wheat and rye hybrid.
The bourbon is aged for a minimum of three years in new American oak barrels.
It is usually described as showing caramel, vanilla bean and toasted oak, with baking spice and honey-drizzled cornbread. The finish is long and slow, with a little smokiness and sweet oak.
