Bladnoch Liora is the first Distiller's Strength release from the Bladnoch distillery, founded in 1817. It is bottled at 52.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle, so the whisky is shown as Master Distiller Dr Nick Savage intended.
It was matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon casks and new oak casks.
The nose brings orchard fruit, ripe pear, honeyed vanilla and delicate florals. The palate is full-bodied and silky, with vanilla fudge, baked apple and stone fruit. The finish is long, with vanilla, soft oak and a gentle floral lift.
