Blanton's Gold Edition Bourbon Whiskey (51.5%)

Blanton's Gold Edition is a bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery, named after Albert Bacon Blanton, known as Colonel Blanton, who served the distillery when it went by the names O.F.C. and George T. Stagg. The original Blanton's was first introduced in 1984. It is drawn from casks matured in Warehouse H, a building clad in metal. Temperatures swing widely between day and night, and the warehouse is steamed in winter, so the whiskey cycles in the barrel more often. This Gold edition is bottled at 51.5% ABV, or 103 proof. The nose brings plenty of dried fruit, then tobacco, spice, caramel and honey. The palate follows the nose, and the long finish carries vanilla and sweet oak.
