Blanton's Original Single Barrel Bourbon (70cl, 46.5%)

A Kentucky straight bourbon made at Buffalo Trace Distillery and bottled from a single barrel at 46.5% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. Blanton's introduced it in 1984 as the first commercially available bourbon bottled from individual barrels. The barrels come from Warehouse H, so the flavour can differ a little from one bottling to the next. The nose is creamy, with vanilla, caramel and butterscotch, plus honey, citrus and warm spices such as nutmeg, clove and cinnamon. The palate is full and round, with caramel, sweet corn, honey and vanilla, lifted by citrus. The finish is pleasantly long and warm, with vanilla, caramel, oak and nutmeg.
