Blanton's Straight From The Barrel is a single barrel Kentucky bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, in its 2024 edition. It is bottled at 62.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Blanton's is described as the world's first single barrel bourbon. Elmer T Lee, Master Distiller at Buffalo Trace, named it in 1984 as a tribute to Col. Albert B. Blanton, whose hand-picked barrels he remembered from the late 1940s. The nose is dark chocolate, caramel and butter over earthy walnut and hazelnut. On the palate come warm vanilla, oak, toasted nuts and rich spice, with hints of butterscotch or honey. The finish is deep and resonant.
