Blanton's Straight From the Barrel is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery, bottled from a single barrel at cask strength. At 64% it is neither diluted nor filtered.
The bourbon matured in new, charred American oak barrels. As each bottle comes from one individual barrel, the strength and the finer points of flavour can differ from bottle to bottle.
The nose combines dark chocolate and caramel with earthy walnuts and hazelnuts, and hints of vanilla and toasted oak. The palate is full and concentrated, with vanilla, caramel, butterscotch, roasted nuts and honey. The finish is long and warming.
