Blanton's Straight From the Barrel Bourbon (75cl, 65.1%)

Blanton's Straight From the Barrel is a single barrel bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, in a 75cl bottle. It goes from cask to bottle with no dilution and no filtration, so the strength follows the barrel, at roughly 63.3 to 65.1% ABV. It is made to Buffalo Trace's Mashbill #2, a high-rye recipe with an approximate 12 to 15% rye. The barrels come from the same section of Warehouse H where Colonel Albert B. Blanton chose his private reserve barrels. The nose is dark chocolate, caramel, walnut and hazelnut with a campfire note. The palate has vanilla, toasted oak, spice, butterscotch, honey and raisin. The finish is long, with peach, toasted notes and chocolate spice.
