Buffalo Trace Bourbon is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Franklin County, bottled at 45% in a large 1.75 litre bottle.
It is made from a low-rye mashbill of yellow corn and malted barley, and aged for a minimum of eight years in first-fill American oak barrels. Each release is hand-selected from no more than 40 barrels.
The nose offers caramel, vanilla, honey and orange zest, with gentle oak spice. On the palate come toffee, brown sugar, honey and summer fruit, with a measured rye spice. The finish is long and warm, with sweet oak and baking spice.
