Bomberger's Declaration is a small batch Kentucky straight bourbon from Michter's Legacy Series, created as a tribute to the Bomberger's Distillery that preceded the Michter's name. This 2025 release is bottled at 54% in a 70cl bottle.
The series uses Chinquapin oak alongside traditional bourbon maturation. For this edition the barrels were made from wood air-dried and seasoned for different periods, from 18 months to three, four and five years, before being toasted and charred.
The nose offers bright fruit, roasted nuts and salted caramel. Jammy berries, floral notes and salted caramel lead to chocolate and baking spice, and the finish is long, with dark chocolate, berries and seasoned oak.
