Booker's Batch 2015-03 'The Center Cut' is the third Booker's batch of 2015, a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, Kentucky. It is bottled uncut and unfiltered at natural barrel proof, and the label gives its age as roughly six to eight years. The name refers to the barrels taken from the middle floors and central positions of the rickhouse, where the temperature is most consistent. It follows Booker Noe's approach of choosing barrels from the centre of the rickhouse for his own bottlings. The nose is warm caramel, vanilla, toasted oak and baking spice. The palate is full and concentrated, with toffee, charred barrel, rye pepper and dark fruit, leading to a long, warming finish with persistent barrel spice.
