Booker's Batch 2015-05 Maw Maw's Batch Cask Strength Bourbon (75cl, 64%)

Booker's Batch 2015-05 is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled uncut and unfiltered at natural barrel proof, 64% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. It was made at the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont. This is the fifth batch of 2015, called Maw Maw's Batch after Booker Noe's grandmother, whose home was a gathering place for the Noe family's early bourbon culture. The name belongs to a tradition of batches that honour members of the family. The nose is described as warm caramel, vanilla, toasted oak and baking spice. The palate is full and concentrated, with toffee, charred barrel, rye pepper and dark fruit, leading to a long, warming finish of barrel spice and fading sweet vanilla.
