Booker's Batch 2016-01, named 'Booker's Bluegrass', is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled uncut and unfiltered at natural barrel proof. It comes from center-cut rickhouse barrels aged six to eight years, and was distilled at the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, Kentucky. It is the first named batch of 2016 and the release that began Booker's new batch naming system. The name celebrates Kentucky as the birthplace of bourbon, and the naming tradition honours Booker Noe. The nose is warm caramel, vanilla, toasted oak and baking spice. The palate is full and concentrated, with toffee, charred barrel, rye pepper and dark fruit. The finish is long and warming, with lasting spice and sweet vanilla.
