Booker's Batch 2021-01 'Donohoe's Batch' Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (75cl)

The first named batch of 2021 from Booker's, a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled uncut and unfiltered at natural barrel proof. It is made at the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, from centre-cut rickhouse barrels aged six to eight years. It comes in the Booker's wooden presentation box. The name honours Mike Donohoe, a retired Jim Beam employee who joined the company in 1982 and became a close friend and collaborator of Booker Noe. His influence in the early years of the Booker's programme is credited with shaping the brand's direction. The nose is warm caramel, vanilla, toasted oak and brown sugar. The palate is full and concentrated, with toffee, charred barrel, rye spice, dark fruit and an oily texture. The finish is long and warming, with lasting spice and sweet vanilla.
