Second fill Oloroso hogshead finish
A 20 year old Bowmore from Islay, distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2025 by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 3.357, Home Is Where The Hearth Is. It is one of 228 bottles, each in a 70cl bottle. It spent 17 years in an ex-bourbon hogshead before moving to a second fill Oloroso hogshead for the rest of its maturation. The notes describe rum-soaked mango, melon and pineapple with brown sugar, then clotted cream, scotch pancakes and maple syrup, crisp-skinned duck breast and almond frangipane tarts with raspberry jam. With water, flambeed banana, coconut cream and key lime pie appear. The finish brings ripe papaya, honeydew melon and smoked duck with redcurrant jelly.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
