This is a high-rye bourbon from Breckenridge Distillery in Colorado, finished in Tawny Port casks and bottled at 45% in a 75cl bottle. The mashbill is 56% corn, 38% rye and 6% malted barley.
The bourbon is aged for at least three years in charred new American oak, then spends four to six months in 59-gallon Tawny Port casks. It is released in small batches of eight to 10 barrels. In 2024 it won World's Best Finished Bourbon at the World Whiskies Awards.
The nose offers sultana, maple syrup and light oak spice. Plum and fig lead the palate, with toasted oak, caramel and a peppery backbone. The finish is long, with maple, dried fruit and port tannins.
