Breckenridge Spiced Whiskey (75cl, 41%)

A spice-infused American whiskey from Breckenridge Distillery, high in the Colorado Rockies, bottled at 41% in a 75cl bottle. The base is a high-rye mashbill of 56% corn, 38% rye and 6% malted barley, double distilled in a copper pot still and aged for about three years in American white oak casks with a #3 char. It is proofed down with snowmelt water from Mount Quandary, then hand-infused with whole roots and winter spices: cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and clove. The nose is warm cinnamon bark and dried clove over caramel and vanilla. The palate is bold and warming with cinnamon, allspice, peppery grain and nutmeg, and the finish is medium, with clove and baking spice giving way to toasted oak.
