This Bruichladdich is the eighth release in the Links series, in which each bottling is named after a famous golf course. Jim McEwan selected the casks, and the label carries a painting of Torrey Pines by Graeme W. Baxter.
The whisky matured for 15 years in bourbon casks, then received a finish in casks from Château Latour in Bordeaux. It was bottled at 46% ABV in a run of 16,000 bottles, without chill-filtering or added colour.
The nose is fresh, fruity and sweet, with nutty notes. The palate is full-bodied, thick and oily, with dried flowers. The finish is medium, with earthy, spicy notes of white pepper and oak.
