Bruichladdich – 18 Years Old 1st Edition 2011 (70cl, 46%)

This is the 1st Edition of Bruichladdich's 18 year old, an Islay single malt distilled in 1990 and bottled on 30 May 2011 at 46% ABV. It is sold in a 70cl bottle with a metal tin. The whisky was matured in a French oak cask that previously held Opitz One, a vin de paille, a sweet wine made from dried grapes. Bruichladdich stands on the north shore of Loch Indaal and uses open stills that are not especially tall. It is the only distillery on Islay that runs its own bottling.
