Bruichladdich – 1986 Sherry Butt 20 Years Old (70cl, 54.9%)

This is a distillery bottling of Bruichladdich, an Islay single malt distilled in 1986 and bottled on 12 January 2006 at 20 years old. It is bottled at 54.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured in a sherry butt, and the cask yielded 498 bottles. Bruichladdich stands on the north shore of Loch Indaal and uses open stills that are not especially tall. It is the only distillery on Islay that runs its own bottling.
