This is a 1989 Bruichladdich, aged 16 years and bottled at a full strength of 56.1% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The nose is closed at first, with a slight glue note and rose petals, before maple syrup and creamy honey appear, followed by dusty attic and damp cellar notes. Water brings out bergamot and brackish water. The palate builds slowly to a big hit of peppery spice, with ginger, honey and sweetness, then red berries and a faint trace of peaty water with sea salt. The finish is oily and sweet, with cocoa, ginger, pepper, honey and fresh American oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
