Bruichladdich 1990/27 is a 27-year-old Islay single malt from the Rare Cask Series, in a 70cl bottle. Distilled in 1990 as an unpeated spirit, it was released in a run of 12,000 bottles, originally for travel retail.
It spent its first 17 years in American ex-bourbon casks. In 2007 Master Distiller Jim McEwan moved it into French red wine casks from Château Haut-Brion, where it matured for a further 10 years.
It is bottled at cask strength, 49.5% ABV, without added colour and without chill-filtration.
